Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while inhabitants in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and faced interruptions to water supplies, as stated by city officials.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has increased assaults on electrical systems over the past few days, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from international partners to exert influence on Moscow.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the United States, the EU and the G7 - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing restrictions," was stated in a public message.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets struck the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to repair systems.

A series of attacks hit electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from local officials.
